Type Locality and Naming

It is distinguished by the author (Luchnikov, 1970, 1972). Includes in Dushanbe-east Shirkent-Luchob.

Synonym: Suffinskaya suite, суффинскои свите

Lithology and Thickness

It is composed of multicolored sands and siltstones with rare layers of gravel. Thickness is 30-45 m.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

It lies conformably on the Lower-Middle Jurassic Gurud Fm (гурудской свите)

Upper contact

It is conformably overlain by the Varzob Fm (варзобскои свитой).

Regional extent

It is widespread in the Dushanbe district. In the eastern part (to the east of the interfluve of the Shirkent-Luchob) it is represented by the Suffin suite (суффинской свитами). In the interfluve Shirkent--Luchob these several non-coeval suites transition (pairwise) into each other along the strike.

Fossils

In the Suffin Fm (суффинскои свите), remains of Callovian, in the opinion of T. A. Sikshtel and the author, plants Pachypteris lanceolata Brongn., Otozamites graphiens Sew., Brachyphyllum sp., Pagiophyllum sp. were found.
